Feeding Josh with out killing him

Mar 19, 2010 23:14

Josh can't eat much fat at all. So I'm looking for meal ideas that are fat free or very close to it.
I found fat free yogart and salad dressing .
Having abit of trouble figuring out cheap meat for him to eat. I made good tuna bugar for him but I'm getting a bit stuck on ideas that will not break the bank.

Do you guys have a membership to Costco? It might be worth your while. In the meantime at the grocery store...Turkey thighs - you can get them at the grocery store (bone in) usually 2 for less than $5. One of them is a meal, but you need to remove the skin!

Chicken. Pork (not bacon).

Veggie stir fry with brown rice.

Whole wheat pasta.

Extra lean ground beef.

Stay away from cheese, milk, bacon, sausage, most red meat, ham, deli meats, nuts and those are what are off the top of my head.

It's very specifically fat content. Don't have to worry about sugary or high-sodium foods.

Basically, because my gallbladder is being a little @#$@#$, I can't have much actual FAT in the food I eat, or I could end up passing another stone or having it become inflamed.

I cant' wait to have my gallbladder OUT... because then I'll be able to eat fatty foods again. Just not too much of them all at once.

For a family of your size i would definitely say yes. Especially if you have a freezer!
