when people start praising american history x, i get too irrational to speak, but i can refer them to my essay on the subject. i therefore think it appropriate to commit my thoughts on the movie "love actually" (which i saw friday, and becky saw last night) to writing... for posterity's sake ( Read more... )

becky and i faught about this stupid movie for like 3 hours last night... when we saw it, i hated it and everyone hated me for hating it because they claimed it was sucha "warm to the heart" romantic comedy, while i thought it was utter bullshit which didn't express love in any realistic way... just a bunch of stupid crazed fucks who didn't know jack shit about eachother, infatuated by eachother's common, "cute" traits such as the inability to speak english (and having a lack of education), or being afraid of the president molesting you while cursing all the time due to a lack of a volabulary, etc... but yes, love actually is a terrible attempt at a love story, since the person who made it clearly has no grasp on the idea of love. this crap is raping the country with bad cinema, and it enfuriates me beyond belief.

true dat yo..
one person i saw it with didn't like it, but only because the guy gave his secretary a necklace.
and the other person said, "you're right, it was pretty bad. but the end was so heartwarming."
"when harry met sally" is a @%$&# heartwarming romantic comedy, "love actually" desperately needs to be renamed "love is a big fucking lie, go home and kill yourself rather than see this movie"

i've seen a lot of bad movies. i don't know why i'm so adament about this particular flick.
all i know is that, the entire walk back to the dorms, between yelling obsenities, i could actually feel my heart trying to recover from the upstate-new-york level of freezing cold that had engulfed it for the two previous hours.

harry met sally is very heartworming, but i still found some weirdness in it... for example, they managed to like not fall in love for so long... not even like a hint of it at all. it was sorta ridiculous, but maybe i'm just missing something. so why do you hate american history x so much?

preface: in hearing increasingly legitimate arguments in favor of ahx from people whose opinions i respect, my hate for it has lessened. however, i still think it's a big piece of crap.
but before i go through the effort of finding a comp that isn't as new-fangled as mine and has a floppy disc drive (so i can copy/paste my essay), have you seen the movie/what'd you think of it?.

i've seen the movie a few times, i found it to be a very well made film, and i like the fact that it shows that hate ends up just fucking over anything, and people try to hide hate behind labels such as naziism, when they are all just scumbags to eachother no matter what their ideals are. i guess i just like the movie because i have strong feelings on the whole idea of hate... I may say i hate everyone/a lot of people, but in reality, i'm a preacher of peace. I think concentrated hate is just as irrational as random hate, and that's what the movie becomes all about when he gets fucked in the ass by his own nazi crew.
