Seriously, if I was to list the Ultimate Rules of the Internets, number one would be this.

Do NOT post anything on the internet that you don't want other people to see!

Duh... .... HOY!

You can filter and hide and obfuscate all you like, but if you let >anyone< see it you might as well let >everyone< see it.

That's one good reason my LJ is friends-only....

Even friends-only is not enough when the drama llama is trying to ride through your life. Friends talk to each other, tend to not think about what may or may not be acceptable conversation. Friends talk to their parents and significant others, and you never know how many degrees of separation there are between your blog and someone knowing something they should not know. Sometimes people you think of as friends are really not friends at all.

I find it's best to avoid the whole thing and post only what I'm willing to show the whole world.
