There's nothing as therapeutic as going grocery shopping. To peruse the aisles, choosing which palatable sustinence will satiate your anticipated hunger... mmmm. i totally second that.
and you know what's even better? when you go to mail services only to find a lovely package with your address on it...and it's full with all sorts of goodies (food goodies that is)! totally free! yay for parents

You're right, grocery shopping is strangely satisfying...I do it for the family as much as possible when I'm at home. (here I'm as frugal as possible and eat only at meal times :-D) It's hard to come back from a grocery shopping trip in a bad mood, unless, say, you dropped a watermelon on a little old lady's foot (which I haven't done!). Perusing bookstores is a similar de-stresser, I've found, used bookstores in particular, because then I can afford to buy a book or two and so in looking it's not simply "window-shopping". I did that a couple times in Chattanooga back when I had my car; I particularly remember going to the little used book shop on Frazier one afternoon in a terrible mood after getting an F in New Testament on the grading period, and returning feeling much better. Do you like bookstores? Some weekend I'm just going to set aside an entire Saturday to hang out in some shop in Santa Barbara ( ... )
