Backstory!

Personal History: Simon was born to Scott and Lucille Taylor on November 20th. He grew up in England, in the country. His family owns a farm, and the large majority of their income and whatnot comes from said farm - growing their own food and selling; boarding horses, raising other animals, etc. His mother also has a part-time job at a small, local store, but that's more for her enjoyment and occasional escape from the house than anything else. On the farm, his mother is the master with the plants, and his father oversees anything to do with the animals. Simon takes after his mother in having a green thumb.
His mother and father are very devoted to each other and to their children -- Simon is the second youngest of four children, having two older brothers and a younger sister. Becca, his little sister, is 11. The next is only one year older than him, Michael (14), and the eldest is four years older than him, Daniel (17). Growing up in a rather secluded area led to him spending quite a bit of time with his siblings; though they drive him crazy and he often fights with them, he loves them all the same. His childhood with them involved pulling off pranks on each other, blaming each other for mishaps in their chores, trying to shove said chores off on each other.
When he received his letter to Hogwarts, it was a shock to the family. They didn't believe him at first, and thought that perhaps Michael was playing another one of his pranks. However, once they realized that he was actually a wizard, they were fully supportive of him, and Michael bugged him at every opportunity to tell him what it was like to do magic.
Personality: Simon doesn't tend to like to follow authority. He goes against the grain and marches to his own drum, preferring his own way to the way of people who think they know better than him. He's quite competitive, and the fact that he didn't make it onto the Gryffindor Quidditch team bothers him to no end. He constantly tries to show the team that he can fly/play, so that perhaps he can be on the team next year.
He's a very intelligent kid, but he doesn't tend to like to sit still in classes, nor does he enjoy homework much. Therefore, he's not the greatest when it comes to classes -- he'd much rather be outside jumping around and being a kid. He's got a great sense of humour and could be considered a class clown type. He's very energetic and has ADHD, which makes him... rather random.
He thinks that he knows it all, or at least knows a lot about it all, so he tends to be quite the terror in classrooms. He enjoys correcting the professors, other students, and everyone in general. He tends to get along with most everyone, because he has the type of personality that people just gravitate to. He tries to be friendly with everyone until they get snippy at him -- then it's on.
He's a slight troublemaker, but nothing too horrible. He mostly likes to be the diversion for the real troublemakers, or he keeps watch. Something along those lines, so that he can be in on the action, but not really in on it.
Physical Description: Simon is 5'5" and 135lbs. He has slightly shaggy blond hair and brown eyes. He's got slight muscle from working on the farm, but nothing drastic. After all, he's thirteen.

AHYEE! A BUG was sitting on Simon's treasured eggplant that he'd grown from a seedling! 'Twas not good, not in the least!! The bug must have been three times the size of his hand, and MASSIVE JAWS OF DEATH! It was going to eat his eggplant!! NOT ON!
He carefully leaned over the particulary large leaf, eyeballing the bug with a look of someone who was just biding his time before... SMACK!

A laugh that sounded slightly scary came from the thirteen year old as he lifted his hand to reveal the little bug guts. Tsk tsk. That would teach it to eat his plant, that was for sure!! But -- oh no, he'd ripped a leaf in the process! Bah. He needed to think before he smacked about the bugs! They knew what they were doing. Evil little critters.
