We have an 8" dog bowl full of pellets daily, plus hay (very impawtant), plus a few veggies. An egg cup would amount to starvation - even the Dame eats more than that and she's tiny!
Just free-feed, Herbie. Eat all of your mix and if you do ever want to switch to pellets then there is a brand which is suitable for Frenchies (I have them - topped with mix). Bunforchewnately, some vets just don't have a clue about us biggies and when we're starved, we can quickly waste away and look ragged.
Allen & Page Breeder Grower pellets available in 20kg sacks for about £11. They're good (protein 15.5%, fibre 18%) and contain a probiotic but nowhere near as tasty as our Supreme Mix. Fursonally, I won't touch them but some of my neighbours enjoy them including your mum and dad.
Stanley (4.5 months) is munching his way through 2 big bowls of Mr J's per day, plus piles of hay and a dish of bunny salad daily. He is also still growing.
Mum has no plans to change his food as she doesn't think our Science Selective is probably suitable for him, though it's great for us little buns.
Once she thinks he is fully grown, which won't be for a while yet, she'll probably reduce the amount a bit. Lots of vets advise very small portions but what is fine for buns like Misty and I wouldn't maintain an appetite like Stanley.
Sounds like Stanley is eating more than me! I'm now 6.5 months old. I have a bowl of Mr J a day- it doesn't get topped up until it's dust at the bottom- I do eat all my favourites quickly and slow right down for the yellow flakes and pellets!
I have access to hay all day and get a few veggies daily. And the odd piece of fruit. I' growing too - when in for my fur-cut I weighed 2.2kg.
Stanley is a bit of a monster - he weighed 2.8kg at 12 weeks old. We reckon he's at nearly double that now. Hence the amount of mix he scoffs! He's a bit of a piggy!
Eat, eat, eat Herbie! I ate, ate and ate to get me to my magnificent proportions and even then I went through some really lanky times during growth spurts.
It has only been in the last 6 mumfs (18 mumfs onward) that my food has been more controlled, partly weight related (I have a very, very healthy appetite!!) and partly to get me eating more hay to wear my teefs down.
Auntie K knows best which is why our 2foots asked if they could adopt us from her.
I am free fed- although I wish my bowl was topped up more often- I do munch all my favourites first and slow right down for the yellow flakes and pellets!
I'm going to stick to Mr J's - as long as I continue to eat it all (eventually)
an EGG CUP! We're only medium sized buns.. although Pebs is 2.8kg which is hefty for a dwarf lop. We eat loads more mix than that each day and Uncle Guy says we are bowf a furpect weight. What a load of trollop...

I enjoy my food. Mums face was a picture when the vet said egg cup!
What's the name of the pellets - just in case?
I've mellowed a little over the past 7-10d - feeling quite chilled- can't understand it myself.
