Hiding deep beneath her strength was that abandoned girl, still certain she couldn’t truly count on anyone; not sure she was worth loving.

I love the way you set this fic up; and the title is very apt too. You ease us into the fic just as Booth wakes up -- gradually, a little at a time. You set the scene, the almost absolute darkness excepting the glow of the embers, the cold, the protection within the cocoon of blankets and their intimate tangling within that cocoon. There is a sense of intimacy right from the start, even without there being actual intimacy yet.

You show us a very honest introspection by Booth. It's safe here where he is and he feels free in this circumstance to explore those thoughts. And then to put that exploration into actions. But he only has to make the first move and she is meeting him half way. And the scene goes from blurry and quiet to hot very quickly. The fire isn't the only thing with banked embers.

I had terrible time coming up with a title, so I'm glad you liked it! I wrote this kind of introspective Booth thing, where he was thinking about Brennan and his changing feelings for her...and I wrote this post sex cuddling thinking about what had happened between them thing, and neither one was exactly what I was trying for. SO I mushed them together, and then remushed them together, since the first time didn't work. Then it was finally almost what I'd been going for in the first place! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I've been slowly reading through Firestorm I've really enjoyed it so far!

As you know, I've never watched the show, but I read this anyhow because it's yours. This felt very lyrical and intimate, even not knowing very much about the characters. Very nice. I likey.

But you are so not getting me hooked on another show I barely have time for! No. Not going to happen. *hides the tv remote* :D

Plus they changed Bones day in Canada so it's the same as us yank's. idk about the time...but you shouldn't let a silly thing like never having watched it stop you! Look how much fun BSG has been, and not everyone was completely show literate there! *blinks adoringly*

ETA: I'm glad you read the story, and enjoyed it in a you had no idea what this was about sort of way!

I am an equal-opportunity fic reader - you wouldn't believe how many FS stories I'd read before actually watching Farscape (after seeing only PKW).
This, yeah, I really liked the feel of it, even if I don't have a clue. :D (You know, I'm going to be seriously dispointed when I do get around to watching and they're NOT together.*sigh*)
