i just finished "the bell jar," which was semi-interesting. if you read it without knowing anything about it, you probably won't be disappointed. it's supposedly a classic. give it a try. =)

I'm convinced "The DaVinci Code" is bad. That's my prejudice. However, my prejudice (never having read the book) is formed on a solid index-- it's sold at Costco plus I always see crazies carrying it around. Neither sale at Costco or being carried by crazies is sufficient on its own to justify my predjudice, though I feel their combination is more compelling. Furthermore, the cover looks like a Tom Clancy novel, telling me it's marketed to people in the Tom Clancy market. And while Tom Clancy is not bad, a sure sign your book is bad is if it purports to be other than Tom Clancy fiction and yet is marketed to lovers of Tom Clancy fiction.

You would be the first non-crazy I've see reading it.
