i got into ucla. i feel like i lost ten pounds. or even fifteen. call me jenny craig. suddenly all of the CRAP i have to do before tuesday doesn't seem as bad. who cares about american lit? i got into ucla. smile.

follow your heart. your head will be stimulated in either place. go to ucla.

it seems like your heart is on being near home and familiar faces. at ucla you'll get more familiar faces. at berkeley you'll start with a blank canvas.

a good friend and former gsi of mine went to ucla for english undergrad, berkeley for english doctorate. she loves both schools.

both places are great, you would love both, too. but what would tip the scale is the network of support avilable at home versus the homesickness you might feel at berkeley.

ucla is better for you.
