It's interesting to me that the "Elly turns 45" arc originally ran in July of 1995. Lynn had not solidified Elly's birthday as happening in August, but she also had abandoned aligning Elly's birthday with her own, in May. This year is the not the first time an Elly birthday arc has been redirected to August. I guess someone is keeping better track of continuity than Lynn ever bothered to do.
