An objective look at the past tells me that John and Elly believe that a child's job is to spout cutesy wutesy drivel about angels painting leaves to entertain her parents. Teaching them things destroys their innocence. Not, of course, that they see it that way. I'm fifty-nine and I still get locked out of loops because the idiot sister I still talk to is worried it's going to scare me.
When my sister Lynda broke her hip, that was the excuse I was handed by the dotty person keeping me in the dark. This came back to bite Donna in the butt because when Lynda died a few weeks later (from a fat embolism), we had to remind her that it would have been difficult for Lynda to phone and say that the neurosurgeon had examined her and found no trace of higher order brain functions.
