It's been a crazy ride. This election was a sleeper event at the beginning of the campaign. Nobody expected much of anything. But every single party made history in one way or the other. The Liberals and the Bloc Quebecois both imploded leaving the Conservatives and the NDP to pick up the pieces

Actually, it's Dan (the candidate) I'm worried about. He's been working tirelessly supporting lefty groups (4-5 nights a week for a year and a half) and a lot of people, and a lot of causes that he believed in, turned on him.
I'm also concerned for my friend Jamie. He was Dan's campaign manager. He wants to be a professional campaign manager. He's also been eating/sleeping/breathing Dan's campaign for 18 months. If he could have secured us even as little as 25% of the local voted, he had job offers lined up. We only got 21.5%.

From what I can understand the Liberals just didn't run a good campaign in many places, but what happened to the BQ? How did that happen?

Thanks for the insight about the BQ. Perhaps the way things turned out is a sign that Quebec may be tired of separatism for a while. A little butt kissing of Quebec may turn out to be a good thing for the NDP in the long run.
