Pretty simple. Ask basic info about you, school history, church history, extracurricular activities. Then stuff like your strenghts and weaknesses, what you can offer the Biola community, no tricks. Enjoy!
oo one question that i had an embarassingly hard time with was "Who is Jesus? What has he done for you?" It was hard for me to articulate it because I knew that she was really judging what I was saying.
the woman that interviewed me was sooo nice, though. it was pretty fun :)
As someone who has done the interviews, I can promise that the person wasn't judging you. We ask the question simply becasue we want to know that people coming into Biola have a genuine relationships with God, that they're not just spewing out "church talk". There are lots of acceptable things that a person can say in response to that question, we just want it to be personal, not just Sunday School answers.
i think i understand what you mean about making sure that there isn't just church talk. it was good, though, because i was so embarassed that i couldn't exactly articulate it to someone who was on my Side... no wonder i have difficulties with people who are Against me.
do you work as an ambassador? or with the actual admissions program.
I'm the one who scheduled your interview today. Small world, huh?
Anyway, like I said to nightsatnewport, the interviews are generally pretty casual and are just an additional chance for our admissions staff to get to know you beyond the kind of information that your application and essays are able to convey. We evaluate potential students as people, not as numbers, and this is a part of that.
The guy who's doing your interveiw is really laid back. He'll ask some questions about your academics (strengths, weaknesses, etc.) and about what kinds of things you expect to get out of Biola, and he'll ask about your spiritual life (how and why you became a Christian, how you've been growiing lately, that kind of thing.)
When I did my interview, I was so nervous, but you don't need to be. The counselor is on your side, he just wants to get to know you a bit better.
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask me.

Last year, I was a TeleCounselor.
I thought about doing ambassadors, but opted not to.
