So I'm kinda new to this whole livejournal thingy...and I was looking around and I found this community!! I'm planning on transfering to Biola next fall! I'm super exciting and I can't wait to get there! It's crazy...I went to Guatemala this summer...and a couple of missionaries there told me about Biola (I hadn't seriously considered it..it's ( Read more... )

hello erin :)

im noël glaser, a freshman at biola. im from santa monica (california) originally and i love biola way much.

biola is beautiful, and has a very spiritually strong atmosphere. class sizes are generally small, and professors take interest in their students and truly care about them. we have an amazing new cafeteria with many options to choose from every day, and great events and people. mmmm yay biola!! :P

im a voice performance major, so most of my classes are music related. but i love my classes, mainly cuz i love music and learning more about music, lol. my professors are wonderful for the most part, and im reeeally learning a lot. im also taking weight training and biblical interpretation/spiritual formation (biola is a bible college), and im absolutely in looove with my professor for that. when (hopefully!!) you come next year and take that class, i really hope you get dr. quarry, cuz she is hilarious :).

in terms of how im doing in my classes, im doing ok. my hardest class is lyric diction (i got a D on my ( ... )

Hey thanks for responding Noel! It so encouraging to hear how much you enjoy Biola! Way cool that you're a voice performance major...wish I could sing..haha! Um..I'm from Pendleton, Oregon...and I would be a freshman just like you this year (I graduated last year), but unfortunately with financial aid..and crud...and really just God's timing I didn't end up starting up at either George Fox, or Northwest Nazarene...the two schools I applied too (which is interesting...because God may totally have wanted me at Biola..we'll see I guess!)...so this year I'm taking a couple of general classes at the community college here in town (but really not a whole lot transfers, it's complicated..going from a quarter system to a semester system...ick!),and I'm working a bit...so yeah! I really appreciate you giving me the inside scoop on Biola; it sounds great!!! Thanks again!

Nice to meet you to claire! Thanks for replying! How is journalism going? That's awesome that you're minoring in spanish! I love spanish! I would love to minor it in...but we'll see...I want to major in nursing and I don't know how a spanish minor would fit in quite yet!! Do you get to practice your spanish a lot down in La mirada? That's one thing that really excites me about Biola, being in a more spanishy area!! How are the dorms! Is it fun! Oh man, I've been looking forward to dorms for so long! How are things with your roomate...and what kind of dorm activites to you have? Or is there even time for that?? Anyway!! Thanks so much for replying! And thanks for your prayers! Hasta luego!
