First off, Matt and I are okay. The cats are okay. The apartment, for the most part, is okay. We do not have power, have no idea when we might get power back, and have a warped door and damp spot on our living room ceiling. We are about 50 miles as the crow flies. It takes us a little under an hour to get to Galveston.

Glad y'all made it through! My parents evacuated to the hill country. Their house, luckily, was fine. Hope you get power back soon. Alas, my poor hometown. :(

So glad to hear from you and glad to hear that everything's safe!

Hope they let you turn your power on soon. Have you heard about the flooding in Chicago this week? they're not turning people's utilities back on until their dwellings are completely dry...
