mediafire eta: I've been told that for some people, it has no audio. I recommend using
VLC Player for viewing, as that seems to work well.
Should've seen this coming
should've known this
shouldn't have let it happen
my mistake allright
stuck again
doing my thing
too alike yet far apart
what felt so good once
is breaking me
and tearing us apart again
Don't you see
we're in this together
you and me
one on one forever
Don't you see
we're in this together
you and me
one on one forever
I know it's self inflicted
we're way to desperate
way too addicted
but I can't help the way I feel
i know it's time to be strong
now when all hope is gone
and when what felt so good once
is breaking me
and tearing us apart again
Don't you see
we're in this together
you and me
one on one forever
Don't you see
we're in this together
you and me
one on one forever
and in your troubled eyes I see
someone who carried me somehow
like footprints in the sand
you've been behind me all along
we got it wrong from the start
now it's you and me let's hit it on
don't you see it's you and me
against the world
'cause we're in this together
you and me
one on one forever
Don't you see
we're in this together
you and me
one on one forever
The story - I know I wanted to make a vid of some sort, but I didn’t know for sure what I wanted to make until I heard this song. It all started with this simple song. If you look at the lyrics, then you can pretty much see the straight-forward story I wanted to tell/message I wanted to get across: that Dean and Sam are in this together (“you and me against the world”) and it’s just them, and they have to have each other’s backs, be there for each other. There's also the underlying feeling of frustration in the beginning of the vid - that Sam didn't want to come on this road trip but Dean's like 'Saammmyy...come! God you can be so frustrating sometimes! *punch* ..*wall slam*'. The video starts out with Dean’s POV but I think somewhere down the line the POV becomes unclear and I’m not bothered enough by it to change it. Maybe later I’ll polish it up a bit more, clip-wise.
I started this with a loose little outline I wrote up in Word with the lyrics to the entire song and notes of what clips I wanted to use from which episode next to each line. In the end, I followed maybe 80% of the outline to the letter. It really helped me, especially since this is the first real video I’ve made, and helped organize all my thoughts and make sure the clips I chose followed the lyrics. The song was fast-paced, so not only were the lyrics relevant to Sam and Dean, but a fast paced song seemed easier to me to vid (as a first-timer) than a slow one.
I had some trouble compressing this thing, but eventually after messing around with Vdub settings, I got it to compress to a fairly small file. I’d like the video quality to be a bit better, but I think that has a lot to do with my source files and the settings of Premiere Pro (which I’m not sure what they should be - what settings do you use when making a video?)
Next time I think I will vid to a slow, achy, emotional song, because then there can be all these pretty, angsty clips and lots of slow fades and overlay and just so much more emotion. (Not that I’m saying fast-paced can’t have emotion - it’s just harder to achieve such a resonance of emotion with that type of a song.)
I tried to avoid using too many effects because I didn’t want to over-do it. I hope the clips themselves are enough to tell the story.
Tools used: Adobe Premiere Pro, to compress VirtualDub (video: full processing mode, compression>home theater>1pass; audio: full processing mode>compression>IMA ADPCM 32.000 kHz, 4 bit, stereo, 32KB/s), and to play use either Winamp or VLC player.
god...it's finally DONE!

So I was checking my flist and I come across this:
Drawbles for Drabbles! And ok, it's closed, but OMG. GO, READ, LOOK! And try not to faint from the cuteness/hotness, k?
