I have officially embarked on the road to becoming a bilateral CI user. I have been kicking around the idea of surgery on my other ear for many months, but now I have actually taken the first steps in the process

That sounds really exciting. I would think direction of sound would be a huge win, especially if you drive. Knowing where the siren or honking is coming from is vital to knowing which way to go to get out of its way, after all.

Hope things go OK with your surgery, but which company's hearing aids are you wearing till then?

I don't wear a hearing aid at all.
