Name: Vanja
Previous Stamps: General DA Theme: Anders
Positive Traits: Analytical, independent, calm-minded (read: I have good control over my emotions, despite being easily irritated by people, heh), clever, open-minded, loyal, determined, "humorous"... but that can also be a negative *points below*
Negative Traits: Hopelessly self-critical, secretive, devious, obstinate, sarcastic/mocking/mixed with a dark sense of humor in general, idealistic to the point of cynicism, argumentative, seemingly contradicting in personality, rather bitter... at least if you catch me on a bad day.
Hobbies and interests:
Beyond the love of video games that I'm sure no one saw coming I enjoy reading-- many of my favorites end up being classics, historical fiction, or fantasy, but I'll at least try to read anything suggested to me. I also enjoy mountain biking, hiking, and music (both playing and listening.) Ah, and tea and coffee!
Dislikes: More than anything? Bigots, gender generalizations, people who complain but don't do anything to change whatever they're whining about, and the feeling of failure. Other dislikes include people who keep me up until 4 in the morning when I have to get up at 7, anything with the words "Hallmark" or "Lifetime" attached to it, when people insist that some random slab of red paint is some type of artistic masterpiece with metaphoric content too awesome for me to understand when it's just a slab of red paint, M&Ms, and privileged people who think they're the most amazing people in the universe when they've never had to do anything for themselves in their lives.
How are you described by others?: Depends a lot on who you ask. I've been called nice and helpful, but also a horrible demon child, hah. Most people - at least after they know me - say something along the lines of "intelligent, snarky, and abrasive."
Is it easy for you to fit in? I know how I'm supposed to act and can if I need to, but I don't really connect to many people. ... so in short: No, not at all. D:
Do you prefer environments that are more crowded or exciting, or quiet and tranquil?
Crowded and exciting, I suppose, although the ideal would be quiet and exciting, heh. Crowds can tire me after awhile, but if I'm somewhere isolated I just go a bit crazy.
What places in the real world interest you the most?
Depends what you mean? Anything that I haven't actually seen interests me, for example, because it's somewhere new and seeing the world sounds wonderful. If you mean areas I can go to on a daily basis... The things I like tend to be on opposite extremes, like libraries with that distinctive old book smell to loud metal concerts in bar-esque places. (... see, this is what I meant by "contradicting." XD)
Would you rather be too hot or too cold? Too hot. I mean, I briefly lived in a desert before and loved it. ... and right now live in a cold area and can't wait for summer.
Which interests you more: traditional beliefs or innovation? Innovation, definitely. I've never understood traditions, and generally believe that progress usually benefits more on the whole.
What type of people do you get along with the most? What about people you DON'T get along with?
People who are willing to put up with me? Heh. In a general sense, I guess most of them are intelligent and understanding.
I don't get along with the people mentioned in my dislikes and just generally... blissful people, as I find it difficult to tell them anything without feeling like a dirty cynic. Or, on the flip side, people with no sense of humor whatsoever tend to get annoyed at me quite quickly.
How's your family life? Do you get along with your family? (If this question is a bit too personal, you don't have to answer.)
Hahaha. I'm going to decline to answer, thanks.
... that probably says too much as it is.
