On the subject of abusive Dominants in the BDSM world: you are wise to be aware of them. There are predators hidden among us, and they nearly always prey on brand new submissives, the people who won't know the difference between abuse and "being submissive enough". Those of us who are experienced in the scene do our very best to educate newbies as best as we possibly can. And of course, when an abusive Dominant is found, we exclude them from the scene and talk loudly, warning others of their misdeeds.

But unfortunately, there's not much else we can do. Rape culture is some pretty fucked up shit, and it's easy for the sexual assaulters to hide amongst us. We do our best to stay vigilant, educating newbies on both the Dominant and submissive sides on the difference between kink and abuse.

Thanks so much! I'm not exactly a "new submissive" -- my major experience with a dominatrix began two decades ago. (Ended...well, in a sense, it hasn't ended yet!)
