For those of you that know me, you would know that I detest automobiles and strive to never own one. They stink, pollute, kill, and annoy the hell outta me. Driving one also stresses me out - there is just too much to pay attention to and the thought of having the control over a huge chunk of metal seems dangerous to me.
Also, after living in ( Read more... )

Pretty neatness. I loved Vancouver for its transit. It was nice and easy like pooing after coffee. We totally need to live in a city were people give a shit about transit (ie: large amounts of the population actually USE public transit, and not just watch it from their idleing cars.) Lets move to Madrid, they seem like the classiest. One, however, may argue that spending money on pretty transit tunnels is a waste, when that money could have been spent on improving the actual transit system. Those people would be smart, correct, and like me. Har. Toodles

thanks for link, I'll check it out. Yes, urban planning definitely comes into play and would help a whole lot for the transit system. Which is why most of the cities that have great transit, also have great city planning. Makes sense.

ya, the paris transit is fucking awesome. *sigh*
It is so much easier to get around Europe - and so much cheaper in Canada. Wow, to think of all of the people (chinese) that lost their lives for our railroad and now we don't use it. When I was in Fra/Itl it was cheaper to go from one city to the next via the train than it is to go from on end of this city to another via cab!!! Canada really doesn't care for tradition sometimes...something new comes along and everyone just jumps on that. Oooooooo shiny new car! Ooooooo SUV....ooooooh!
