Um.. How do you get that close to the back of a tiger and still stay alive? and... How do you stop the boat to buy something at the floating market? Do you throw money and hope they throw you the fruit?
oh yeah, the floating markets are not exactly situated in rapids.
you just row up to the next boat, and grab it so you dont float away. its pretty crowded so boats push up against other boats and sort of squish them together.
its more for the locals to trade what they grow or catch with eachother. mostly boat to boat sales. they have scales and stuff on their boats. did you watch the little movie?
the tigers are well fed. the monks treat them realy well, they started the sanctuary when someone found an injured baby tiger in the forest but nobody would dare take care of it. Buddist monks, being Buddist monks, help everything. they raised it, and eventually got a couple more and started breading them. they are all way too tame to survive in the wild, but the hope is that their cubs can be released eventually.
they tigers spend half of their day getting pictures taken of them by tourists. they ignore you completely, even when you pat them.
but they look scary as hell. their paws are the same size as my head, and they look like every ounce of their bodies is made up of muscle.
I hope that the tiger was sedated! Can't wait to get there, only 3 weeks to go...Love the photos and video. Don't forget to give me tips about the best things to see and do over there. Love R:)
