Yeah, what did you get by Sedaris?

And what are Wolf Parade like?

Dress Your Family In Corduroy And Denim.

Wolf Parade is cool, kind of Arcade Fire-ish, strained vocals, large sound. I've only listened once to the whole album so far. It doesn't seem to cohere enough for like, Great Album potential, but many of the songs taken on their own merits are absolutely incredible. Buying the album would be well worth it but even if you don't, find a way to get your hands on "I'll Believe In Anything."

I would disagree, I find that the album is cohesive although there are two lead singers and two different types of songwriting consequently. Yet throughout there are themes that resonate within both singer's work, such as the ghosts of loved ones and worlds beyond our own. Jeph Jaques of Questionable Content calls it the second best album of the year, and I would have to agree. I also don't really think they're like Arcade Fire, I see more of 70s Bowie in them, or another Canadian Band called Blue Rodeo (not necessarily sound wise, but the two frontman dynamic is very similar). Though I am with you Danny, buying the album is well worth it.

I saw the thematic play, but just didn't quite think it listened well all the way through. Really though, I haven't had the time yet to truly get to know the album. I was just stating first impressions.

They reminded me of the Arcade Fire immediately, largely the approach to the vocals and the general bombast. Plus, I hear Bowie in the Arcade Fire too.

Chutes Too Narrow, the newer one.

I actually don't even own Oh, Inverted World myself. Pretty ridiculous, really.

In this David Sedaris book, he says the main reason he's proud to be an American is that the blind can legally hunt in both Texas and Michigan. But the Netherlands wins, because in their country Santa comes with six to eight black men who beat the bad children with sticks and abduct them to Spain.

Hmm... I personally prefer Oh, Inverted World. It's one of the few non-classical CD's that I have. Because of who my parents are, I've had to depend on friends for anything non-classical. I hadn't even really heard the Beatles until high school (yes, pathetic).

Hahaha...
