Okay so there is this band called Beirut that I have been listening to lately, and they're very good and I bought their album and everything. And then Dylan gets into town and it turns out that he knows the main guy from this band because the guy is from Albuquerque and Dylan lives in Santa Fe and he actually opened for them at a show once ( Read more... )

OH MAN I was just about to look up Beirut because I heard they were AMAZING. I think you should send me their album.

Also I think we should put on that play on a Chicago street corner. I bet we would get tons of change thrown at us.

Yeah, I like that song a lot, though I don't think it represents the album that well, since most of it sounds a lot more like gypsy music. But anyway, it is all crazy crazy good. That dude is nineteen. Ugh.

I wish I was that talented at 18, or maybe in September when I turn 19, I'll somehow become impressive- that'd be nice.

Very talented young people depress me. I'm reading a biography of Tennessee Williams, and apparently as a young man he wrote a lot. Every day. He cranked out like a story a week and sent them in for publication. They weren't particularly good, but still! A story a week!

I need to go read about, like, Virginia Woolf or somebody, somebody not quite so prolific.
