Last night was an incredible birthday party/singalong at Sam's house. Sarah and I got to meet Sam's grandmother and her new husband Bob, both of whom were lovely, fascinating people. Sam's ex-girlfriend is an amazing songwriter whose career is taking off in a very big way. I hadn't yet met her or heard her play, but was really just bowled over by

the poem is really nice. i find the last two lines particularly striking.
