(yes I know I'm way behind don't rub it in)
So when I was a kid, watching digimon for the first time, Leomon made an impression on me. His heroic determination to protect the chosen children at the cost of his very freedom, Patamon's description of him as a defender of the weak, etc. Also leonine digimon with a neat attack and a sword. He doesn't use the sword for much, he just has one to be badass. I was elated when he came back, and Saberleomon was a badass evolution.
And then he died.
I opposed Tamers because it got rid of the adventure continuity, but some people saw a silhouetted Leomon in the OP. I promised to watch Tamers if one appeared. I watched it. For 12 episodes.
And then he died. Wouldn't come back and finish for years, because I was only watching for Leomon.
Frontier. Not sure if there were any except Kouichi - think there was a Panjyamon as villain in one episode. Who dies.
Ssvers. BanchouLeomon is great and heroic and dies at the end. And they included a Saberleomon as an antagonist. Who is like the first digimon perma-killed in the whole show.
Xros Wars. Madleomon. But who cares? I'm waiting for the real Leomon death.
X-evolution movie. LET'S KILL ONE OFF AT THE START, JUST FOR FUN.
