02) What was your dream growing up?
I had several. At one point, my goal was to grow up and hunt unicorns in Ireland, because I was positive that was where they were all hiding. Of course, every time I tell someone this they immediately go "WHAT?! YOU WANTED TO KILL UNICORNS?!" and I have to explain that no, I wanted to discover them, like in a scientific expedition or something but they're still focused on the idea of a little girl wanting to be a unicorn killer so they don't listen and arrrrgh
I also wanted to be a secret agent.
03) What talent do you wish you had?
It's less of a talent and more of a social skill, really, but I wish I could interact with people my own age. I've never been what you would call a "typical" teenager. I'm the kind of person who spends hours lying awake at night pondering the existential qualities of life and hammering out what I believe as far as God, nature, and the inherent characteristics of humanity. I'm extremely passionate about a myriad of causes - environmentalism, feminism, gay rights, anti-discrimination: you name it, I have an opinion on it. I'm a casual hipster, I dislike most modern pop culture, and I have absolutely no problem with talking to people twice my age or half of it.... but when it comes to hanging out with teenagers, I've got nothing. They are truly alien creatures to me, just like they are to the rest of the world. It gets lonely sometimes.
04) If I bought you a drink what would it be?
Lemonade. I am a goddamn lemonade connoisseur.
05) Favorite vegetable?
Corn or carrots, probably. But not cooked carrots, I hate those.
....I don't eat many vegetables.
06) What was the last book you read?
A Clash of Kings. I finished it yesterday.

Umm. I lie easily, I'm lazy, I procrastinate terribly, I mouth off, I yell at people if they're doing something I think is wrong, I spend hours on the computer, I eat craploads of junk food... which of these is worst?

If I had a car... and a license... sure!

I wouldn't say that I have an attitude that leans one way or the other, honestly. I vacillate depending on how my day goes.

Probably gradually start freaking out. The more time it takes for them to rescue us, the bigger chance I'll be curled up in the fetal position on the floor and surrounded by a puddle of tears once they finally get us out.
14) Worst thing to ever happen to you?
Umm. Right now, at this point in time, I think it's probably having to move and start a new school my senior year. I'm not ever going to get that whole traditional experience: I'll be a new kid surrounded by people finishing this chapter of their lives. Not getting to celebrate with the kids I've gone to school with for three years is hard... but I just moved, so obviously a fresh pain is going to feel worse then an old one. As far as "worst things ever" go, it's not an awful one at all.
15) Tell me one weird fact about you.
JUST ONE?! BUT HOW CAN I CHOOSE? Hmm. Well, when I have the house to myself I sometimes walk around without a shirt. If that's not weird enough, I taught myself to read when I was three.
16) Do you have any pets?
Yup! Two cats who live with my mom, and a Labrador who lives with my dad.
17) What if I any of your LJ friends showed up at your house unexpectedly?
I'm editing this so it makes more sense. If any of you showed up at my house, I'd frantically push you out the door and into a hiding spot so I could A) hug you and B) hiss at you to get the hell out before my mom saw you. <3 I'd tell you to meet me in a fast food restaurant or something in an hour and talk with you there.
18) What was your first impression of me your LJ friends?
Most of you I met through chat, so: "Hahaha, these people are hilarious! Oh, man, I wish I could do this more often. But I'm not as cool as they are, they probably don't need me."

I don't really think they're either, I just don't find them very funny.

Hmm. I'd probably make my nose smaller. Or maybe I'd give myself a better rack.

Interesting question! I want romance someday - everybody does - but I'm pretty casual about it. Imaginings of romantic relationships usually take the backseat to my dreams and career plans.

I was raised in a devoutly Catholic family and for the longest time believed that Catholicism was just the best gosh-darn thing ever. I have dim memories of actually feeling superior when I found out Christianity was the world's most populous faith category, like it was a race or something, and I swallowed everything they told me to believe.
When I was in eighth grade, I asked my mom - who's taught religion in Catholic schools for years - why the church was against gay marriage. She told me it was because they couldn't have biological children, and therefore it was a sin for them to "engage in sexual acts" since conception always has to be the first and foremost reason people have sex. Okay, I thought, that makes sense! Now I kn - wait a minute, that doesn't make sense at all. What about barren people? Are they supposed to be celibate their whole lives? Of course not... and if they don't have to follow that rule, why do gays? It was the first time I'd ever questioned any of the church's teachings.
Then I moved on to high school and attended a public school for the first time in my life. And I started talking to people on the internet. And I stopped blindly accepting everything Catholicism professed as true. All of this opened me to other viewpoints and ideas, and I started to realize that the person I was becoming didn't mesh with the Catholic faith at all.
My zealous mother still makes me go to mass every Sunday, because she says it's her duty as a Catholic parent. And I can respect that. But as of right now, I'm an agnostic theist.
