I am glad you wrote this. Many of the things you wrote are things I fear or have experienced being a lesbian in today's world.

I have the constant fear that Niphy or I will die alone because we are a lesbian couple.

I had a friend kill himself at 14 (when I was 14) because he was gay and he could not take the rejection from society.

My parents hate Niphy and I cannot even celebrate holidays with Niphy and them at the same time because it's "not allowed".

I left the church, not because I don't believe, but because I feel they closed their doors to me.

Wow. I am very sorry that you have had to deal with those things in your life. It is not fair, and it is not right. You are a much stronger person than I could ever be because of those things. ((((hugs)))) I don't mind that you and Niphy are lesbians though! :D You can come to my house for holidays any time!
My dad isn't supercool with my brother being gay and me being bisexual, but he is accepting and we have never had to deal with him telling us to get out, nor has he ever told us that our significant others are not welcome in his house. I am really, truly sorry that your parents have to be so closeminded.

I have to say though, I didn't write this, I got it from a friend's journal. I am going to edit my post right now and say that. I forgot to put it in there.

I liked reading that, even though it almost made me cry. The world is fucked up. But thanks for posting it.

These words touched me Deeply.

Though i did not have to deal with alot of these things, i have had minor cases of a few of them, but to group them all together like that strikes fear in so many diffrent places. To know how screwed up and unsafe our world is... for people who... by their very nature cannot help who they love... what they are... but these people are seen as bad because people dont think to look outside their little box... until all people choose to learn a diffrent path... and teach a diffrent path to their children there will always be hate, fear, war... but when these things happen... the few times that we can escape it.. we find love... sort of the light at the end of the dark tunnel with the creepy eyes.

I too copied this amazing group of statements from another's journal.

As I read, I could almost feel each of the 'individuals' and realized that all of us, straight, gay, lesbian, bi, transgendered or otherwise are simply inhabitants of this planet. We all live, breathe, love, laugh and cry.

Prejudice, of any kind, bites.

I am glad to see this going around. I think it is important that we all have a good conscience check once in a while.

Thank you BCW, you sugah pie you.
