and i come from an anime where nothing was set in stone, not even canon but i still knew my canon backwards, forwards and inside out to get the details right, there were jokes that i knew canon better than the actual writers

in other news mine was in revenant the magic weapon was going to be the colt until i looked it up and realised a) the model was made after colt's death b) it was a remington c) haley's comet was out of the question and d) samuel colt probably never made a gun himself anyway

Oh the colt thing got me too. I was looking up Colt and his wife, and family and the Winchesters - icluding Ms. Winchester's weird occpancy with her ghost house and if the families could be at all related, because that would make sense, right? Having a link to Colt ad winchester, but while the families might have met, nothing concrete was found. Which is okay, but then the lack of follow through on the gun's origins were shakey and wrong. So I'm not sure what to do with that. *pout*

Mostly my issues isn't with lack of fact checking on the writers part (per say) but some irresponsible props. For instance when the boys went back to their highschool, The signs said 1997, when it should have been 1996. *sigh*

Or the lack of info on Dean's ring. The fact Dean made (stated in canon) the salt gun shells with his Dad - one line. One. Bitches! *whines* Also, fans need more info on what Dean was doing the years he was alone without Dad or Sam.

Also the boys tattoo, looks kitche. In the worst way. IT'S SO PLEBIAN. X(
