It's kind of scary that there are 12 communities and 179 users on livejournal that have white pride listed as an interest.

I was completely oblivious to the fact that these groups still existed, until I realised that someone on my friends list is a 17 year old nazi. She claims to not be completely racist, but has yet to explain exactly what she means by that. Apparently there are varying degrees of White Pride. I'm still talking to her, hoping to find out more about her views.
It is frightening how much of a WP scene there is though, and how many of them are under 20.

I used to be friends with quite a few neo-nazis in my younger days. Never believed in what they believed though. I was of the mindset that as long as they don't pull that crap around me...than I was fine with it. Or maybe I was deluded to think that I could have some kind of positive effect on their mentalities.

there's nothing wrong with being proud to be white. i'm proud to be white and if i was black i'd be proud to be black, etc.

Obviously there is nothing wrong with it. But many people today are using the term "white pride" to mask racism.
