Thanks :-) I have been eating less meat over the years, but am not all the way there yet :-) I don't eat eggs because the industry is so needlessly cruel. Even the cage free and free run farms are kind of a farce.

I always think that if someone is going to eat meat, better to go for a big animal like a cow, because a lot fewer of them have to suffer than if they eat chicken or fish. Never understood people who say "Oh, I only eat chicken/fish" as if it's better. Might be better for health, but worse for the animals!

Chicken and fish production is so bad. I eat very little fish too.

One obstacle is my husband, who loves meat. I made veggie ground round chili one day with cinnamon and raisins and that did not go over well :-D I love it though.

We had a lot of wild turkeys where I lived in NY. After watching and studying them for as long as I did, I stopped eating turkey.

It's rare for city folk to spend any time with a farm animal. I have pet birds myself...spending time with this turkey was really sobering.
