Azarath Metrion Zinthos...Raven slowly opened her eyes, looking out of her window upon the campus grounds below. Much of the morning had been spent in meditation. Now, it was nearly noon. Very little seemed to be going on around the campus, as most students were either sleeping late or in their ( Read more... )

[OOC: Could be anywhere. That's why I left off with her walking away, in case anyone wanted to catch her leaving. Or they could bump into her on the sidewalk. Or meet inside the library. Doesn't matter, really....just need an excuse for the most antisocial student in the school to go off somewhere.] ^_^

((Ah, okay. :D))

River flipped through the pages of a rather large book, seeming to barely scan the pages before turning. She looked up as she caught a glimpse of movement outside the window and saw Raven heading toward the library. Remembering when Raven stopped in and brought her food, River smiled. Raven was very aloof and distant, but she appreciated the girl's hospitality. Besides, they weren't all that different, if you didn't take into account that River was one of the most emotional people on the face of the planet, and Raven the least.

"Raven!" River called out as her acquaintance entered, ignoring a dirty look from the librarian. She jumped up and ran up to her with a smile on her face. "It's nice to see you again. I wanted to thank you for bringing me food. I really appreciate it."

"Oh, River...Hey."

Raven, whose features were normally impossible to read, could not help but show a slight bit of confusion and surprise. This was the same girl who was thrashing and screaming in bed just one day earlier, and now she seemed as chipper as the blonde that she just passed on the way here.

After a moment of thought, she once again returned to her normal, emotionless state. "Good to see you're rested up, and out doing something besides dancing all night. You in here studying for a test or something?"

Elphaba had been browsing around in the library for some time, not looking for books as much as looking for peace and quiet. She had heard the conversation a few shelves away, but had avoided it. She continued ignoring the fact that Raven (was that her name?) was still in the library.

A book on Magical Polatics ((I CANT SPELL >__<)) caught her eye, and she grabbed it off the shelf. She stuck her nose into it immediately, reading as she walked in the general direction of the chairs. It was, in fact, the general direction of Raven, as she discovered when she bumped into her, almost losing grip on her book.

Raven was quetly minding her own business, selecting certain books to cross-reference with the tome that she had brought herself. Still somewhat thinking about River and her condition, she was not paying attention to her surroundings as Elphaba bumped into her, causing her to drop all of her texts.

Cutting her eyes towards the green-skinned girl, Raven curtly said "Watch out" before pointing an arm in the girl's direction. Black energy surrounded her hand. Moments later, books slowly lifted off of the floor and stacked themselves one after another in midair.

Elphaba watched in awe as the books stacked themselves up. "Wow..." she breathed, and then looked up at Raven. "How DID you do that?"

Oh, wait. That's not the right thing to say when you bump into someone. "Er... sorry."

"...Magic?"

Raven stopped glaring at the girl. It was but a minor trick, a simple display of her powers that she did as much to keep from having to bend over as she did to impress Elphaba, but she was obviously impressed. Though not normally a showoff, Raven was aware that respect had to be earned.

A small, almost unperceivable smirk crawled across her pale face. "Don't be too surprised. I am a witch, after all..."
