MAJOR CITY HUNTER EP 10 SPOILERS
OH MY GOD.
DID THEY JUST KILL NANA????
I mean, I know she can't die at this point in the story, and she was only hit in the shoulder,
BUT GOD DAMN DID THEY JUST KILL NANA? Because Yoon Sung is certainly acting like she's dying right there in his arms.
Writers, I don't know whether to curse at you or give you hugs because YOU ARE JUST SO DAMN AWESOME.
So Nana and Ahjussi are simultaneously kidnapped by Kim Jong Shik's men. They're taken to Kim Jong Shik's house, and it only takes, oh, about five minutes for Nana to bust their way out. Girl is bad ass. So Yoon Sung, figuring out that Ahjussi has been kidnapped (but not knowing about Nana) goes to Kim Jong Shik's house, intent on freeing him. Except he meets Nana and Ahjussi in the lobby, clearly already free. So then he gets everyone safely outside, tells Nana/Ahjussi to leave, and goes back INTO the house to gather evidence on Kim Jong Shik. Oy. It's like this boy WANTS to be captured.
So he finds a huge stack of bills, yada yada Kim Jong Shik is corrupt, yada yada. He is of course tranquilized and carted off to yet another secret lair by six of Kim Jong Shik's men.
Nana and Ahjussi see him being carried away, find out where he is, and then Nana goes in there all flying fists of fury and kicks the ass of 5/6 of the grown, strong, specially-trained men in there, to save Yoon Sung.
EXCEPT BEFORE SHE CAN GET TO THE SIXTH MAN, HE PULLS OUT A GUN. AND POINTS IT AT YOON SUNG. NANA SEES THIS GUN POINTING AT YOON SUNG, AND FREAKING THROWS HERSELF LITERALLY OVER YOON SUNG SO THAT THE BULLET HITS HER IN THE SHOULDER INSTEAD OF YOON SUNG.
IN THE EXACT SAME PLACE SHE SHOT YOON SUNG.
AND DID I MENTION THAT, AS SHE IS SHOT LITERALLY ON TOP OF HIM, YOON SUNG HAS NANA'S BLOOD ALL OVER HIS FACE. AND THAT SHE IS CLINGING TO HIM, EVEN AFTER SHE IS SHOT.
THIS SHOW. Seriously, shootings have never been so poetic, before.
And then Nana has some sort of tearful conversation with Yoon Sung as Yoon Sung is freaking out OVER HIS OTP BEING SHOT, and then she GOES LIMP.
Fuck, show. HOW DO YOU MANAGE TO AMAZE ME MORE EVERY WEEK? Every time I think I know what's going to happen next, YOU UP THE STAKES. This week I was all, "oh yeah, Nana's going to kick the asses of six grown men and probably save Yoon Sung in the process. It'll be AWESOME."
But no. Then the show completely ups the AMAZING and decides that Nana should be shot in the shoulder ala ep. 7 Yoon Sung.
I cannot even explain how much I love this show.
