About the kiss thing: No, not weird. In fact, cheek kissing was fairly common in my family. Then I married into a family where kissing parents on the lips was considered normal! Still just a quick peck, of course. To me, lip kissing is only for my spouse. :)

welllll that's good to know! and i think i agree with you.. lip kissin's only for mates and maybe little little kids.. i see small children that kiss their folks on the lips sometimes..

it (cheek kissing) doesn't seem weird to me, i just noticed none of my friends did it to their parents :P

those are nice :} some years back, my whole family used to take square dancing lessons (it's more fun than it sounds, really!) and the way you greet strangers there wasn't with a handshake or hihowdoyoudo... it was with a hug. so you'd have all these random old people just runnning up and throwing their arms around you that you'd never seen before in your life.. it was interesting :D
