A Moment to be Real (for sixthanimorph)

It's late when Robin finally begins to jimmy the bedroom window open. He knows by now that he's running the risk of waking David, and he considered trying to make it back to the Cave first...but Tim is actually in too much pain to get back on his bike. He's actually just lucky his upper body wasn't harmed, or he'd be shit out of luck right now ( Read more... )

Holding his side as he stumbles in, Tim allows himself the luxury of leaning against David when he shows up at his side. "Just--first--bathroom." Tim's gritting his teeth from the pain. Whatever happened, talking isn't coming too easy for the Boy Wonder, who is steadily hauling himself at David's side towards his planned destination.

When they reach the threshold, he gestures to the cabinet under the sink.

"Press the--lever. To the right." The lever is hidden, but if David feels around, he'll get it. Tim slumps against the wall, breathing in and out, deeply, distancing himself from the pain. When David does as he's told, a hidden compartment door falls open, the space within filled to the brim with medical supplies. "How good--are you with--blood?"

While he'd couldn't help but suspect it, it's not until Robin slumps against his shoulder that David realizes just how solid the vigilante is. They might be of roughly similar heights, but pound for pound, Robin's got his totally kicked when it comes to muscle. David himself is lean and wiry, the result of years spent running and living off of what he can get. Robin, by contrast, is built like a warrior - all tightly-packed muscle. The forearm he's holding onto feels as solid as an oak banister.

"Yeah... bathroom, alright." He wants to ask more, but questions are clearly going to have to wait, so he guides the wounded crimefighter across the bedroom and into the hall, towards the bathroom. A perplexed look crosses his tanned features when Robin starts gesturing to the cabinet, but he does as he's told, kneeling once Robin's on his feet and digging one hand into the darkness. Against the wall his fingers find something solid and he presses, triggering the hidden compartment. It's almost too elaborate to be believed.

Oh, God, good. If David had been squeamish at all, Tim would have to do the majority himself. While that's usually not a problem, he's a bit worried about infection. And disinfecting takes time ( ... )
