I was 'introduced' to a guy last night who talked to me with the minimal amount of words and effort humanly possible, in a way that suggested he thought he was far too cool and aloof to crack a smile and wouldn't lower himself to talk to me in a friendly manner, like I was a real person... And this is the attitude of many people who associate ( Read more... )

I had to physically laugh out loud in agreement with your post post. Seems pointless to try hard to be "unique" to impress others. If they don't care for you as you are, they aren't worth impressing in the first place! I think many of the people I would regard as unique often come in very seemingly normal packages.

"What happened to judging someone on their behaviour, or their actions, their conversation, their character, or on their treatment of other human beings and animals? I don't give a shit if you're the most attractive person on earth if you're a complete wanker."

COMPLETELY agreed. Society has seem to lost base with whats genuinely important. Now its all about what you consume that makes you "interesting" or not. Its sad.

Thanks for the comment... the most interesting people to me are the people who don't try to be anything other than themselves! Too many people try to turn their lives into a product, like celebrities releasing perfumes and clothes lines like their lives are just something that can be bought. I guess, to an extent, this is true, because so many of them have empty lives that only consist of consuming and products. u_u;

Couldn't be more well put!
It really is sad that only way some people can "individualize" themselves is by what they purchase and what click they fit into. Granted many people will find a group or a life style they are more partial too enjoying. But if your individual identity becomes dependent that to the point you won't deviate from it, or judge others by it, that just seems so limiting and pointless.
