Title (sort of): Thoughts on the use of hands and bodies instead of restraints to hold victims down in my Mary Sue noncon fics
Word Count: 850
Warnings: Discussion of erotic nonconsensual fiction & enjoyment of same.

When I think of the Mary Sue noncon stories I write, I first think of bondage in the sense of handcuffs and rope. Sometimes metal restraints affixed to furniture. But when I looked at my Kink Bingo card and thought about it some more, I realized that there's a heck of a lot of what the "Kink Wiki" calls held down-bondage in the form of the villain/aggressive character physically pinning the Mary Sue victim to various surfaces and then having his way with her, or two or more villains holding her so one or more can gain access.

The first-time scenes where Makor and his buddy restrain Our Heroine first upright and then on the bed (and floor, and bed again, heh) are basically one long exercise in being held down. It's in the interrogation scene where several guards hold her down on the table. It's in a whole bunch of newer and older Karin vignettes I haven't posted: for example, one where a brothel owner shoves her over a desk and holds her there while he tests her out, and then a huge guy holds her in various upright or seated/spread positions while the madam preps her; one where two "johns" hold her struggling to a bed for double penetration, and the helplessness she feels contributes to a breakdown when they're through with her (I started drafting that one to share here instead of a meta, but it's part of a larger arc and will be better served if I wait); one where a former patient shows up in her quarters and drags her toward the bedroom before pinning her to the carpet; and one where a crewmate holds her wrists "like a stupid cliché" while he rapes her.

"Held down" is one of my two mainstays when it comes to the villain first capturing and/or assaulting the victim in a story (the other being immediate use of physical restraints). It's an invasion of personal space and a preview of the more intimate unwanted touching that follows. It's a way to establish or reinforce the physical superiority of the villain, which might serve as a metaphor for his higher rank or political power as well. I've done it where the girl is unskilled in physical combat, and I've done it where the girl is a trained fighter but still not good enough to beat who she's up against. The latter allows for more fighting or wrestling, which ratchets up the intimacy and desperation along with the action. Sometimes the villain has supernatural power (e.g. vampire) so it doesn't matter how strong the girl is. That ratchets up the sense of helplessness.

Oh, if this is your thing in (het, maledom) fiction, it's just so sexy to think about a guy overpowering a girl and physically manipulating her into whatever position he likes so he can do what he wants to her. It lets you play with fear and anger and danger and humiliation (e.g. if he holds her in an open, vulnerable position) and pain. Plus, so many delicious positions to choose from! He can clutch her against himself standing up (mm, like in hostage situations, or headlocks), or hold her to a wall, or pin her to the floor or the bed or a miscellaneous piece of furniture. He can force her legs open or closed with his own. Their bodies are pressed together in any number of places, and if they're face to face, that further deepens the intimacy. And does pressing a hand over someone's mouth count? Especially if the same grip is used to hold the person's head in place. That is a classic favorite.

Bondage through implements (handcuffs, etc.) is plenty delicious and achieves many of the same goals for the villain-physically subduing the victim-and for the victim-who is rendered impotent, so to speak-and gives the villain more freedom to move because he's not using his limbs for restraining, but using hands and bodies to do the subduing adds this whole layer of physical closeness that I like exploring. Having the villain hold down the victim offers more flexibility than using specialized restraint equipment, too, metaphorically speaking: the villain is fallible, the victim may be crafty or lucky, and she might break free, either for good or just for a minute before being recaptured-a hope of freedom dashed.

And speaking of a limited number of limbs, let us mention tentacles! When the aggressor is non-humanoid in such a way, he or it gets to have plenty of appendages with which to hold the victim and do the touching/penetrating.

In short: deliciousness. And stay tuned for further ficly proof.

Written for my Kink Bingo "held down" square.
