Seventh Eden: Leader of the Mirages

Nov 04, 2011 23:08

[Action: 502 Ricardo St.]

[Another month had passed since being in Mayfield. That made two so far, but since the first and second incidents, things seem to be dying down. There certainly wasn't anything quite as life-threatening as a wide-scale zombie epidemic anyway. While she has been told that the postman makes a special delivery every month, ( Read more... )

[Seeing a lifeless body on the floor of the house wasn't something Pokey was expecting to see. He stops and watches as Clod taps into Har before actually coming over.]

...What is he?

[Clod simply smirks. She can't change her voice. It's beyond her potentials. But clearing her throat, she does her best impression of Har as possible and replies:]

"What" am I? A fair, if impertinent question, but I will look that over and indulge you if simply to not spoil by grand return. Listen well, little one: my given name is Har, and as for "what" am I, I am the supreme leader of the Mirages. And the one who shall usher in a new order in this fallen world. A true paradise for all and myself."

... Oh, what was it that my other half called him? An "insufferable bag of wind"? I think so too.

[Pokey laughs at that. Actually laughs, which is nice considering how bad everything had been in the last week. He's still smirking when he actually responds.]

You can count me in on that.

[And he'll actually go over to prod it.]

So what are you doing with him?

[Pokey would find that he might as well be prodding something like curtains. It feels as though there's nothing behind the man's robes, but if for whatever reason he decides to take a peek, he would see nothing but wires.]

The postman delivered him to me. He once made up one half of who I am after I was forcibly split into two separate attributes. This is just his empty husk left over after I returned to my original self.

I'm making... an angel.

[Despite the near infinite amount of energy stored inside the girl's body, even she appears to be struggling with this ritual. After all, she was changing Mayfield's coding, but... in all honesty, it was far too alien for her. And it seemed to fix itself right back before any actual change has been made.

But Clod continues.]

An angel...?

[He doesn't say anything more, but waits with her and looks to the sky to see if this angel will appear.]

That's right, an angel. And I have what I need to create that Angel. WE won't have anything to worry about anymore with it watching over.

It'll be our Guardian Angel.

[The brightness of the magic circle made from light begins dimming gradually. Clod is losing her focus.]

Isn't dying sort of required for that?

I prefer to think of it as rebirth. You're still alive. But from the looks of things, it seems like one would be perfect to have around our chaotic, little town.

[He's slightly mortified... but a little curious, too]

So how does it even work? Turning someone into an angel?

If everything goes well, it'll be a very simple procedure. All I have to do is rewrite your internal coding, both genetic and etc. That should be simpler for interested folks who are a little squeamish with death and dying.

[And as this girl is speaking, her tone implies that what she's talking about is one of the most nonchalant things out there.]

[Hal puts his Lapsed Catholic!hat on.] Well...where I come from, angels aren't so much 'in the skies' as they are in Heaven, which is a separate plane of existence from ours.

Angels were created by God in order to serve Him and as extensions of His will and presence in Heaven and Earth. How...do you propose someone become an angel?

There are several conditions to fulfill in order for someone to become an "angel" and all of what you've said is absolutely true. That's the angel most people have come to know in both of our worlds.

And I don't think humans are too removed from "angels". We've already fulfilled one of those conditions by having presence on the Earth, but the other condition, where we can cross into Heaven, another plane, is unfulfilled. But that isn't enough. Angels can perform miracles silently and guide people towards certain paths through whispers. They're guardians for the well-being of people as a whole.

There are more conditions, no doubt, but once you fulfill all of them, even a human can become an angel. As God, I would give my blessings wholeheartedly!

I don't think you can become an angel, sir. I think they're supposedly created that way by God.

It's a bit complicated, but it's just a little girl talking here, heh. birthclod November 6 2011, 19:20:02 UTC
And who do you think I am?

[A smile curls up on Clod's face.]
