I am so sorry, I went through similar things and ended up having a hysterectomy. The hormones in the patch aren't different from the pill, it's just a different delivery method. You might want to try other pills? There are varying levels of hormones, and sometimes different hormones. Something might help.

Also, if you want a a hysterectomy, your doctor might be able to write your insurance a letter saying it's medically necessary. Insurance is evil, and sometimes we have to fight for what we need.

Good luck. I remember how much pain I was in daily. The morning after my hysterectomy, I actually was able to get out of bed unaided and walk around the floor I was on. The pain from surgery was less than the pain I was in every day.

I actually tried 5 different pills before I switched to the shots.

Honestly, a hysterectomy sounds amazing. People keep telling me I'm crazy to want it. Can't have kids and don't want them anyway. And no, it wouldn't make me less of a woman. Actually, this doctor is the first person who has ever actually listened to me and believed me and been okay with the idea of a hysterectomy for me. Everyone else has just said no. My last doctor was terrible. she didn't even believe my pain level. She actually only switched me to the shots because I suggested I wanted to just cut everything out.

Oh, I feel ya. One doctor told me he wouldn't even consider a hysterectomy because, and I quote, "I needed to have more kids!" At that point I was married with one child, and my husband had had a vasectomy because we were done! Such a jerk.

I'm glad you have a doctor who will hear you. Ask if there's anything they can do to help your insurance cover the hyst.
