Ok, so I have a few questions about Implanon.

I have been on Implanon for about 10 months. I don't have too many complaints about it. I haven't gained weight or gotten mood swings or anything like that.

But, here are some issues I've been having.

A) I haven't had my period pretty much since I got it inserted. I remember having a brief "spotting" ( Read more... )

why is Implanon a "hardcore" method? why are you questioning the OP's choice when she's said she's happy with her Implanon? (to be honest, i wish i had an Implanon in college - i wanted a long-term user-proof bc method for _years_!)

OP: good on you, for thinking ahead and considering your contraceptive options now :) i'd discuss your acne with your doctor or dermatologist - it _may_ be Implanon-related but it may be something else either (have you changed your skin care routine? changed from a soft-water area to a hard-water one or vice versa?)

Thank you to both of you.

I'm not going to lie, I was surprised at first, but Implanon is what my doctor recommended me right off the bat, so I went with it. All I knew is that I wanted to get birth control prior to going to college. I soon discovered while it was incredibly convenient, little "problems" popped up on my face. ;D

Although, I'm still in college, the implanon could still prove useful in the future, but I managed to make it the first year without having sex with anyone. I'm not waiting for marriage, just waiting for someone who isn't a drunken college frat boy. ;)

Thanks again for the imput, I might just go to my dermatologist first and ask them if they think it is my birth control. I'm not really thrilled by the idea of going on acne medication, because the rest of my skin besides my chin is really fine and dandy... -sigh-
