I've been on Yaz for about 6 months and i missed a pill on sunday, i took it on monday. it was my third week and i have had spotting, is this normal?  this may complicte things, but i decided to skip my period last month by just not taking the inactive pills. is there a higher risk of me getting pregnant? if i have sex in the next day or two will i

firstly, if you miss a pill, some spotting is normal. however you really need to check your pill pamphlet (or pillpamphlets) - some Pills require back up contraception after just one missed pill.

(if Yaz does, then yes - if you had sex after the missed pill, you'd be at a higher risk. remember Plan B/emergency contraception is effective upto 120 hours after sex)

edit: looking at the online pamphlet for Yaz, it says the following about ONE missed pill:

Missed 1 pill

If you miss one (1) active pill (pink):

* Take it as soon as you remember. Take the next pill at your regular time
* This means you may take 2 pills in 1 day
* You do not need to use a backup birth control method if you have sex

secondly, "skipping your period" means going from one set of active pills to another. the inactive pills are there as reminders, you dont have to take them as long as you start your next active pills on time.
