My story

Sep 09, 2010 01:01

I've been kinda lurking here for a while since I heard of this group.  It's been six months almost since my son was cut out of me.

Completely UN-necessary c-section and back story )

I'm so sorry all of that happened to you. Every story like this makes me have less and less faith in the OB/hospital birth community.

My faith in the OB/hospital birth system (in America) can't GET any lower after this.

If I was ever to give birth in a hospital again, it would be a European one where they know WTF they are doing, and do it right. Or rather, let the mom move around and not have to be all wired up all the time pushing drugs on her.

Amen to that. My next one is going to be with a midwife in a birthing center.

I'm so sorry you had this experience. =/ If you ever want to talk with me, we can vent. I was very angry for the first year or so about the birth, and now I am in the mindset and midwife and homebirth only. I'm tired of the managed birth process, which results in Doctors like these. Good doctors are good in times of trouble, but every doctor I have run into has just caused me trouble. Here is to healing for you. Do you have a local ICAN chapter? Please keep in touch with us, we all feel your pain.

I have always been very midwife/homebirth minded. The first time round was with hospital midwives. This time, I got pressured into hospital by my husband, b/c he was all "what if something goes wrong". If I ever get pregnant again, I am worried because there are not that many homebirth midwives around and I don't know if they would take a HBA2C. And if I do get preg again it is likely to be an accident, as my husband is of the mindset that we are DONE with having kids. So I am thinking I might end up going unassisted next time. And Fuck what he thinks. He's not the one getting cut up against his wishes ( ... )

Blogging about it, and learning everything I can and sharing with other mothers who experienced a horrible birth has helped me. Its been almost 11 months and I still cry about it sometimes. I am hoping with time it will get better.
