Who re-painted your Chinatsu? They did a lovely job. ^^ Once I've settled on eyes and have my finances more set post gift buying I'd like to get mine re-done.

It was repainted by ViYa. I highly recommend her, she's wonderful. And very reasonable price-wise!

Thanks! I knew ViYa had done the lovely face-ups for the Bambicronys, but didn't realize she was willing to take on other commissions. I do rather like Chinatsu a lot but feel like she would benefit from a new face-up.

Helene, your Bambis are just gorgeous. I adore the faceup on the new one. Is that lamb (?) for Bleuette? Did you make it? I love those kinds of stuffed thingys.

We should have a shoemaking lesson so that I can show you how to make shoes and boots....I've learned that leather can be formed much like natural fabrics....

It's a dog actually, how did you guess it was Bleuettes'? Because of the B I suppose! I bought it at a show in Paris a couple of years ago.
I wish I could visit you and sponge up a little bit of your know-how...I have several books about shoemaking, leather and a few tools, but I haven't had the courage to try yet.
Even about sewing, I wish I could see you work, I'm sure there are many things I do in a very inefficient way.

If I had a lot of $, I'd move to England or France in a heartbeat. I'm sure I have a much more romantic idea of Europe than maybe it actually is...but it seems to be steeped in so much history and to actually revere it, instead of deriding history as is the wont in this country.

Seriously, shoemaking is a LOT easier than it looks. I watched a movie called "Kinky Boots", and picked up some great shoemaking tips by watching them make the boots in the movie.
