Yeah I was a little surprised that one hasn't shown up on many lists either. It'll be on mine.

I'm writing my top 10 list next week. AND YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE EVER WILL BE WAY HIGH UP THERE.

I am surprised. I thought people would be how can you like this and hate No Country for Old Men?

PS. My favorite movie is a three way tie between The Prestige, Kill Bill, and The Departed.

a_philalethist listed a bunch of greats, but have you seen the movies that inspired Grindhouse? They're all pretty great.

From Beyond, Zombi 2, and Dawn of the Dead directly influenced Planet Terror. I guaran-fuckin'-tee you'll love all three.

Two-Lane Blacktop, Torso, The Car, and Vanishing Point influenced Death Proof. The Car is fun but silly, and Torso is one of the best (and earliest) slasher films ever made. I guarantee Vanishing Point but I'm not sure if you'll love Two-Lane Blacktop, but it is one of my favorite films. Those two films have more to do with Death Proof than Gone in 60 Seconds (the original) or Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry, which are both fine films and which are both referred to in the movie.

Shit, Tarantino references so many damn movies that it's hard to start. He references Bird with a Crystal Plumage, which is a great slasher, but not as great as the directors later films (esp. Suspiria, one of the best horror movies of all time).

Uh... so see From Beyond, Zombi 2, Dawn of the Dead, Vanishing Point, Suspiria and Lady ( ... )

I've only seen Dawn of the Dead, I assume you're talking the original. I'm really interesting in seeing Vanishing Point, so I'll start with that. THANKS!
