i've been watching so much trash TV lately

jersey shore,
supernanny,
how do i look,
america's next top model,
big rich texas,
millionaire matchmaker,
teen mom,
true life,
etc.)

that i've been forced to realize it's become an escape from my own drab life.

I'm so glad I don't have cable, so I don't get sucked into watching awful but insidiously addicting TV. Sometimes when I hit a low, I'll just watch hours of game shows, and for the same reason - fake excitement for a boring life.

(Btw, is Jersey Shore really as terrible as they say? Or worse?)

yeah -- stay away from cable ! youre better off without it, especially since you can watch a lot of TV shows online now, and without the annoying commercials.

the Jersey Shore is terrible. but it is so terribly funny. it is not a show that is meant to be taken seriously. the people on it don't even take themselves seriously. it's like watching a bunch of kids run around a candy store. except they're violent, offensive, and drunk. you just have to watch it and laugh.
