Well this group caught my attention with their silly covers on youtube.
The members were clearly fanboying over my favourite idol group, DBSK.

I just love how they were just fooling around. It seems to be a very impromtu - the giggling/laughing by the pink guy when the glasses guy (tried) to sing Changmin's note at 0:14. The handing/requets of the mics. The glasses guy is quite talented.
Rising Sun (DBSK)

This guy attempted to sing Rising Sun by himself LOL. I just watched the subbed episode...they were playing a song game...trying to sing the song without screwing up the lyrics. Clearly this trenchcoat guy's a fan of dbsk. lol he was so excited when he ended up picking Rising Sun. It was funny.

This was also hilarious.

The attempt with the tree and falling off was hilarious. I like that they actually watch their rivals.

LOL the GD Crayon one was funny. I just like how they're just fooling around and seem to get along with each other. There's definitely chemistry between these guys.
To be honest, I didn't care for their original songs. "
WOW" brings me back to the 90s with the Backstreet Boys/NSYNC sound.
So why my sudden interest?
It was their song on Monstar.
First Love - Man In Black (fictional group made up of some guys from BTOB and one guy from B2ST)

It just sounds SO AWESOME. They sang a couple of songs earlier, but they didn't capture my attention earlier. Honestly before I saw this, I thought they were a bunch of back-up dancers pretending to be from an idol group because of songs like
this and
this . This song's catchy but it showcase their vocals and it would be weird getting so many lines in a song if they were just extras on a TV show. To be fair, they all seem to be good vocally here. But spider web guy (
0:25) and black tshirt guy (
0:48) just stood out from the rest in this song.
So then I'm starting to pay closer attention to these guys...and found this cover:
Etude of Memory (Kim Dong Ryul)

When I heard it, I thought of Kyuhyun, my favourite Super Junior member. Why does it remind me so much of him? So I searched on YouTube and found
Kyuhyun's cover of this same song. Kyuhyun puts more passion/emotions in his cover but he's also got way more experience than Sung Jae (BTOB). And Kyuhyun was singing his heart out at a singing competition (Immortal Song 2) - live, in front of an audience which probably helped him emotionally. Anyways, I'm looking forward to Sung Jae's career.
