New Guilty Pleasure - Youth With You

I just watched 3 episodes in two days.

What started this was "The Eve" performance. I was searching for "The Eve" by Exo (was looking for Henry's version) and stumbled upon this.

I was super impressed! They have such power. My eyes were constantly drawn to Kiki Xu. She's so pretty (but too much BB cream? Idk she's too pale).

I didn't know what the heck this was.  Then I saw the training subbed

Ahh this must be a Produce 101 chinese knock off. The dancing teacher was very good! Keen eyes. Who is she?? Who is LISA???

O_O she's from Blackpink?? No wonder she is good. haha. To be fair, I know of Blackpink, but I don't really watch their videos. I know there's 4...but I can't really tell them apart. lol.

I saw some other videos and then I started watching the subbed Episode 1 (part 1) on youtube:

It's so good! I don't think there's evil editing, unlike the Korean original Produce 101. The only thing is I can tell (after watching 3 episodes), I think there is unequal air time. They seem to be showing a  lot of Esther Yu. I find her ditsy act...fake? Her voice is that annoying fake high pitch/cutesy voice that a lot of Chinese actresses have. Her performance isn't bad but ... she's the type I would find annoying.

They also show a lot of Kiki Yu reactions. TBH she's ok. I like her performances.

In episode 2, they just breezed through 3 (?) performances with a 10 sec clip... which I don't think is fair for those trainees.

I am assuming, there is money involved and they're pushing certain trainees (this is what happened with the Korean Produce 101). Which sucks... I wish they'd give the other performance time too.

Anyways, I really like the positive vibe this show has. The girls are pretty good! The difference is, they're not all trainees. Some of them debuted for 6 years. So there is also an unfair advantage. The rap battle was intense in Episode 3. I thought that Jony J was a super nice/easy going guy. But when it comes to rapping, he has a higher bar. Which is good, because I can't stand some rapping in some idol groups.

I really like the judges. Ella and Kun have really on point evaluations.

I really wonder how Lisa gets her translations? maybe someone translates Thai through earbuds?

Who is Kun? I don't know. From the comments, I think he was a past winner of the previous season (?) or maybe a program similar to this? He seems like a smart guy. BUT I don't really like his music (I checked it out of curiosity). He also performed... Not a fan of his rapping. He reminds me a lot of Kris Wu. Good personality yet, not my type. lol.
