History and literature need to be taught together; they complement each other, in a way.

I completely agree with you. I teach my students the history and then we read what was happening in that area during the time. Literature, I believe, is directly influenced by what is happening in the world.

Definitely so. Mine are experts at hiding things. My three-year-old his my flash disk in our speaker and at least eight times a day she loses her Nuk. (Yes, she is three and she is the spawn of Satan so if she can't have her Nuk, she WILL grab a knife and stab me until she gets it back).

I must say after rereading this, I need to add I barely pulled Bs in HISTORY in college. Everything else was As or high Bs with a D- in Algebra.
