Thank you SO much, Megan! This info is all very good and something I need to start on. I have a question though: I have a few outstanding bills (totaling around $750) that I will be paying with my next few check cycles. Should I wait to "pay myself first" until after I've taken care of this?
I'd say start paying yourself right away, if only a small amount. Even putting away $20-50 per paycheck will help you start building an emergency fund and let you get into the habit. Once your bills are paid, then you can readjust how much you put into savings. You might find that you can live without whatever money you are putting toward your bills and put the same amount toward savings when the bills are paid.
Haha, me too. It's even better when she tells people to get divorced b/c their partner has a bad FICO score. :-P She has said several times: FICO first, then sex.
You are my financial guru!! But I have no financial guru icons, or icons that show me bowing to you, so instead I shall drink to you. It's totally the same thing.
