Week 203-204: Submit
All right, as some of you already know, this is the last theme. Just in time for bishounenawards's Fourth Year Anniversary too...! Yes, I am closing down the community right when the community turns four (Aug. 6th). The icontest won't be completely dead on that day though, because we still need to catch up on banners.
So anyway, it's a triptych contest! The rules are the same as past years. For those of you who are new, in addition to the overall triptychs voting there will also be three "regular" contests within the voting post for individual icons (if you're confused, take a look at these: one two three).
This year's contest is a free-for-all icon triptych theme. Make sure to read everything before submitting your set!

Theme: Finale Triptych
The definition from Merriam-Webster Online:
Triptych - something composed or presented in three parts or sections.
Week 203-204 Icon Rules:
- You must submit three icons. No more, no less.
- All three icons you enter must be related as a set. They can sport similar styles, colors, have bishounen from the same series (though it's not required), sport lyrics of the same song, be a picture spanned over the three icons, etc. These are just a few examples of what you can do.
- Your icons must be compatible with LJ. That is, no bigger than 40kb and 100x100px in gif/jpg/png format.
- Remember, fanart is not allowed. You may use doujinshi. If you do use doujinshi, please tell us in your submission.

In addition to voting for the best three overall triptych sets, we will also have three specialized categories for individual icon awards: Most Creative, Best Typography, and Most Emotional. When you enter your set of three icons, you are allowed to enter two of them into two different special categories of your choosing. I'm posting the special categories here first this time so that you all can plan the type of icons you want to include in your set and gear them towards the category you'd like to enter them in.
To enter your three icons for this contest you will need to comment on this post with your icons, the URLs of each icon, character/series names, song title(s), and which two icons you're entering into which two special categories. That's a lot to remember, so I've created an example submission.

Keep these things in mind when you submit this week:
- Be sure to order your icons from left to right in the order of how you want them to appear on the voting post.
- You aren't required to enter in the special categories for individual icons, but doing so will increase your chances of placing, so why not?
- You may only enter up to two of the special categories. If you enter two you must select two different icons from your triptych.
- Include any notes you have about your set on the end of your submission. Also remember our no spoilers rule.

Just remember: The point of this challenge is to create a set of three icons that are meant to be displayed together. Try to be more creative than simply creating three icons with the exact same blending effects (though you can if you want).
Send in your icon triptych by Sunday (Aug. 10) at 10PM CST. This gives you two weeks to put together your ultimate icon triptych! Please be sure to read and follow our community rules. You must be a member to participate.
We will not be listing any icon makers' names at the end of the contest this week. Instead there will be an anonymous ranking so everyone can see how their icons fared. Also, if you alter any of your icons in any way after you have submitted it, make a new comment saying you altered it even if you're using the same URL.
