Poems

So yeah, I've had one poem sitting around for a while, and another one that I only have a line or two for, but it's been rolling around, and maybe I can make something of it

Clementine
As I push my nail into the waxy orange skin
it's tangy scent assualts my senses as I walk the road
foreshadowing delights to come. The peels tossed
aside, from my darling clementine.

I wander, not caring where they fall. My fall?
Sweet, but at the same time sour makes me purse
my lips. The perfect metaphor. For life?
for love? for me? for you?

The road's silent, only the birds awknoledging
my fading presence. Fading as the leaves fall.
Already as I turn back, a squirrel steals
my darling clementine peels.

Peals of laughter caught inside my throat,
but I dare not disturb this quiet. This quiet
pieceful autumn day where the only
unrest stirs within me.

I place the final section of my darling clementine
in my mouth. The acidity hits my chapped lips
and sends many tiny darts of pain. But it fades,
at the same time the sweet intensifies.

My journey almost over, the tips of
civilization showing through a break in the
tress. Wishing I could stay here, in this moment
and hold on to something slippery,

too slippery to catch. I take one last
look, stealing all that I can from this moment
this moment of peace and quiet and this moment
of remembering you.

first of all, i'm not sure about the title. it's not finished, so maybe it'll work, maybe it won't at the end.
here goes.

The dice are thrown
The players set
And the king is on his throne.

One by one we
Make our moves
Approach carefully

Defensive
Offensive
Confusive

I don't dare look back
Or up at his face
See what he thinks of me

I have only one choice
To play the game
Play and win.

yeah. short. but i think it's actually half decent, and i'll be able to make it better soon

so yeah. poetry from me to all of you.

luv
Sabrina
